By now, you've probably noticed my predilection for using ellipses. Call it a stylistic quirk, and if you need to blame someone, that person would be one of my literary heroes, David Foster Wallace [Hi, Megan ;)]. DFW uses ellipses rather frequently in his writing, and I guess I just coppped that device from him.

In a weird bit of synergy, check out the main graphic used for this blog (i.e., the one at the top of this column). I didn't select the template I'm using because of it; I just liked the color scheme. But now, in restrospect it seems quite appropriate...
